Living the high life

Sometimes I need a break from the Feeder and the Other One.  Yes, I took a bit of a vacation with two pals, Seamus and Auggie.  With three boys there was a bit of jockeying for position, but I think you can see from the pix that I came out OK in this group.  I had a blast running amok, disobeying my hostess and teaching bad habits to all involved.  (Of course you can lie on the couch if you want to! People love it when you jump up on them and plant a big kiss! Counter surfing? why not? so much FUN!!!!!).

Poodles for Equality

Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas and one of their poodles, Basket (Apparently they had three in succession, all named Basket) in an old photo re-published in The Guardian (Dec. 3, 2013).
The Feeder and I thought this slightly bored looking poodle would have approved of the recent Supreme Court ruling. As do we.

BETA, the movie

First there was Rin-Tin-Tin, then Lassie, then Benji, and of course Beethoven and then that ridiculous one crayon short of a full pack, Marley.

Now there is Beta, starring in her first movie directed by Jon Lefkovitz. It is a psychological mysterical historical pastoral and romantical 13 minute movie.

BETA
You probably didn't know I have connections with the movie industry - but hey there it is. Beta has a bunch of poodle DNA, so we is cousins.
If you have a teeny bit of time to spare I think you will enjoy this charming, very poodlish flic.

First Selfie

I have had some complaints that I haven't been posting moi as much as I should be, so here I am.
This is my first selfie, taken with the Feeder's box.  She says it will be easier once I get opposable thumbs.

Are white poodles too 60's?

Janie Bryant, as described in this NYT article, is owned by these two lovelies.
She designed the clothes for Mad Men on TV.  I have watched that show with the Feeder, and know that her main comment was that all the clothes look like what she has in her closet.  (Does she need a makeover? ) And how about these poodles?  Do they really need the fluffy pom pom stuff on their legs?  It looks a bit like they are back in the 60's too.

Other Naughty Dogs

Just so you know I am NOT the only one who enjoys munching on a bit of plastic.  My friend Wally is normally much more obedient than I am but here you see the product of his rebellion.  Yes, even mild mannered lab-retreiver-unknown descended Wally can go astray and send a MESSAGE to his people.  PAY ATTENTION! TO ME!!!!!

Dog philosophy

This is great advice from the California First Dog.  Yes, I do mean Governor Brown's corgi -Sutter.
While this may have something to do with the budget surplus this year, I think it really is about bones. It is always about bones.  And isn't it great to have a back yard in which to bury them?

Think about it - something about the way we move

OK, every day the feeder takes me for a walk, and I enjoy relieving myself many many times.  Yes, I mark my territory and answer the messages of others.  I call it p-mail.
Anyway, that is just the liquid part.  When we talk about the solids, a recent scienteriffic study has shown that I am most likely to eliminate when lined up on a North-South axis using the earth's magnetic field as a guide. The Feeder confirms that my behavior fits this pattern. I am so smart I can't believe it myself!
Click here for the NPR story reporting this study.  Judge for yourself.
Sorry about the picture but I am shy.

Rigi's miracle

Remember seeing the image of Elvis Presley on a piece of toast? Well, I believe we have done one better here.  This is an image of Bruce Willis that has spontaneously appeared on one of my cowhide chews. (or wait.....is it Burt Lancaster?).  For those that don't see it:  Bruce (or Burt) is looking to his left with a strange white grimace and an oddly whitish nose.
                                                        Life is amazing, innit?
