Living the high life
Sometimes I need a break from the Feeder and the Other One. Yes, I took a bit of a vacation with two pals, Seamus and Auggie. With three boys there was a bit of jockeying for position, but I think you can see from the pix that I came out OK in this group. I had a blast running amok, disobeying my hostess and teaching bad habits to all involved. (Of course you can lie on the couch if you want to! People love it when you jump up on them and plant a big kiss! Counter surfing? why not? so much FUN!!!!!).

BETA, the movie
First there was Rin-Tin-Tin, then Lassie, then Benji, and of course Beethoven and then that ridiculous one crayon short of a full pack, Marley.
Now there is Beta, starring in her first movie directed by Jon Lefkovitz. It is a psychological mysterical historical pastoral and romantical 13 minute movie.
BETA
You probably didn't know I have connections with the movie industry - but hey there it is. Beta has a bunch of poodle DNA, so we is cousins.
If you have a teeny bit of time to spare I think you will enjoy this charming, very poodlish flic.

Are white poodles too 60's?

Janie Bryant, as described in this NYT article, is owned by these two lovelies.
She designed the clothes for Mad Men on TV. I have watched that show with the Feeder, and know that her main comment was that all the clothes look like what she has in her closet. (Does she need a makeover? ) And how about these poodles? Do they really need the fluffy pom pom stuff on their legs? It looks a bit like they are back in the 60's too.

Dog philosophy
This is great advice from the California First Dog. Yes, I do mean Governor Brown's corgi -Sutter.
While this may have something to do with the budget surplus this year, I think it really is about bones. It is always about bones. And isn't it great to have a back yard in which to bury them?

Rigi's miracle
Remember seeing the image of Elvis Presley on a piece of
toast? Well, I believe we have done one better here. This is an image of Bruce Willis that has
spontaneously appeared on one of my cowhide chews. (or wait.....is it Burt Lancaster?). For those that don't see it: Bruce (or Burt) is looking to his left with a strange white grimace and an oddly whitish nose.
Life is amazing, innit?

Olympic material?
Olympic fever has hit even me. I understand there are no dogs in the competition in London, but I think that is a shame. Dogs can be athletes too, and certainly could excel at sports like cat chasing, plastic bag shredding, food snatching, and looking soulful.
Ok, true, this is just a picture of me having fun with my pal Pogo. Maybe I don't look like an Olympic competitor to you, dear reader(I don't have a uniform, after all), but I do have an undeniable joie d'vivre and would be ready to compete for the honor of dogs everywhere, anytime. just saying...............

why i love my neighborhood
The first time my ID was returned to me, a very nice 10 year-old boy, who makes a habit of skate-boarding in the streets of our neighborhood, came by the house and brought my tag back. I guess I lost it on one of my walks with the feeder. I have to confess that sometimes those walks get a bit hectic - when I am lurching to catch the errant squirrel or perhaps another uppity dog. Then the tag flies off.
After the last loss and return, I vowed to be more careful in the future. But then, I lost the *&4% tag again!
This time it came back in the MAIL, in a real envelope with a stamp, addressed to me! I was thrilled. It was the first time I got snail mail. Life is so EXCITING!!!!

Visiting Diginitaries - Hippopatamus Division
Harmony and I had another meeting. She is recently back from a trip to India with her servants Nancy and Ron. I was duly warned that Harmony is NOT A TOY. That means no biting, licking, hauling around, ripping or deviant sexual activities. I tried my best. So.............. tempting.Thursday, October 27, 2011

Harmony
I am always making new friends! Here is her royal majesty, Harmony. You can admire her tiara studded with genuine sapphires. I love her cute dress too. The color definitely suits her.
Harmony is not just any hippo. She is an ambassador of love, and has been traveling the globe with her entourage for a long time. She has recently been spreading joy in Egypt and Israel.
So hip hip something or other, is all I have to say.

Email Pal
So- most of you know that I was in summer (or was it spring training?) camp recently. It was fun, but tiring and I am still recovering. Before I submit my full report on that experience, I thought its time for another picture of one of my pals. This is Henry. He tells me he is a Shih Tzu which I guess is not a poodle - but then we can't all be poodles, can we?
Anyway, Henry is facing dental surgery this week and I am asking everyone to concentrate very hard to send their best wishes his way. Henry is not the youngest pup in the pet store, but he is (despite the impression from this photo) a fine and noble dog.

Another Special Friend
When I was little
Now that I am over 15 months old, it is time to reminisce about my distant puppyhood. Yup, I have left those foolish days of uncoiling toilet paper, consuming large amounts of plastic and not listening to the feeder way behind. Still I remember the days with my litter. Here is one of my pictures of two of us with one of my favorite friends.

Hoernli
The feeder and the otherone sometimes talk about what life was like before I arrived. (They say that, but I don't really believe anything really came before me. It's all in their imaginations.) Anyway, sometimes they mention this dog, Hoernli. Apparently he was perfect and did everything right. I don't know about that, but he does look like someone I wouldn't mind hanging out with at the dogpark.

The Wild One is being tutored - chocolate labs
I got this message from my pal, aka "Wild One".
"Hey Rigi, can you believe I got shipped off to boot camp for the holidays? Hey dude wanna come get me? XO "
Yup, that's my gal, stickin' it to the man. The feeder says I shouldn't worry, she really is just in a very high class school. She also said I could rescue WildOne as soon as I get my driver's license (some sense of humor on that one!). I hope WildOne comes back soon. I miss her.
