why i love my neighborhood

The first time my ID was returned to me, a very nice 10 year-old boy, who makes a habit of skate-boarding in the streets of our neighborhood, came by the house and brought my tag back.  I guess I lost it on one of my walks with the feeder.  I have to confess that sometimes those walks get a bit hectic - when I am lurching to catch the errant squirrel or perhaps another uppity dog. Then the tag flies off.
After the last loss and return, I vowed to be more careful in the future.  But then, I lost the *&4% tag again!
This time it came back in the MAIL,  in a real envelope with a stamp, addressed to me! I was thrilled.  It was the first time I got snail mail.  Life is so EXCITING!!!!

Cat-a-tonic

It has come to my attention that some people were distressed by my last post about cats.

I have even been accused of speciesism. Now, I am as open-minded as most, but I definitely believe in a prudent separation of some species. For example – Homo sapiens and Canis lupus familiaris– definitely go together and have co-evolved for thousands of years. Humans have been trained by dogs for eons, and have proven themselves as loyal and obedient followers to their noble four footed masters.

However - with Homo sapiens and felines (Felis catus) – it is a mere accident and lack of imagination that keeps them keeping company. While cats also think they are training their humans, in reality the humans are merely humoring them. Do you understand the difference?

As for cats and dogs together - it’s definitely NIMBY, baby. So- call that speciesism if you like; I just call it barking.

*************OK, this is a cute picture of Olive the kitty – but what will she be like when she grows up?????

cats r NOT us

I would so love to chase this guy. I hear he is called Frankie. His owner adores him and many call him handsome but I wouldn’t want to be caught in a dark alley with this character. He looks a bit mean to me. I understand cats don’t care for dogs. What is the big deal? Don’t they understand that the chasing game is all in fun. Really, dogs don’t hate cats and we don't want to harm them (…heh, heh)

Truthfully, the only creatures I rip to shreds are my stuffed animals with their succulent polyester innards. Doesn’t that make you feel better, little kittie?

Last rose of summer

This is a picture of the butterfly that I was chasing. Those crazy things are so fast! All you can see now is this pomegranate that the Feeder and Otherone are so proud of. more about this later............
