Jekyll and Hyde?

.
They finally did it.  While I was at the Spa, I got my hairs cut. O the horror!
Here are the Before and After pictures.
The so-called groomer was nice enough, but I am not sure if this look is really "me".
What do you think?  I await the grow out.

Portraits

Touc, Seated on a Table ca 1879-81

They showed me this portrait of  a pretty interesting dog, Touc, by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec (French 1864-1901). My guys saw this at the Hammer Museum in LA and they thought I might enjoy it.  Good try - but seeing as how the painter was French - could he not have found a poodle to paint? Still, I think it catches the essence of this dude (or dudette - hard to tell if I can't sniff)

Throw it out!

This is an example of SPECIALIZATION.  I don't just chew up everything.  I have my standards, you know.  It helps if it is plastic, has interesting smells, and dangly bits.  This was hard work and shows my accumulated accomplishments over the last 3 years or so.  It is nice that the Feeder keeps buying these for me.

Olympic material?

Olympic fever has hit even me.  I understand there are no dogs in the competition in London, but I think that is a shame.  Dogs can be athletes too, and certainly could excel at sports like cat chasing, plastic bag shredding, food snatching, and looking soulful.
Ok, true, this is just a picture of me having fun with my pal Pogo. Maybe I don't look like an Olympic competitor to you, dear reader(I don't have a uniform, after all),  but I do have an undeniable joie d'vivre and would be ready to compete for the honor of dogs everywhere, anytime.    just saying...............

why i love my neighborhood

The first time my ID was returned to me, a very nice 10 year-old boy, who makes a habit of skate-boarding in the streets of our neighborhood, came by the house and brought my tag back.  I guess I lost it on one of my walks with the feeder.  I have to confess that sometimes those walks get a bit hectic - when I am lurching to catch the errant squirrel or perhaps another uppity dog. Then the tag flies off.
After the last loss and return, I vowed to be more careful in the future.  But then, I lost the *&4% tag again!
This time it came back in the MAIL,  in a real envelope with a stamp, addressed to me! I was thrilled.  It was the first time I got snail mail.  Life is so EXCITING!!!!

Butter plate of shame

Yes, this is more evidence in the long series "chewing".  Or maybe it belongs more in "mistakes".Anyway, the feeder was really put out after this episode, where I found this scrumptious morsel of yellowness just sitting and waiting for me on the dining table.  I waited til the coast was clear, jumped up and grabbed it.  I took it outside to enjoy (thus the dirt coating) but who was there waiting for me?
Yup, she caught me in the act.

Visiting Diginitaries - Hippopatamus Division

Posted by Picasa     Harmony and I had another meeting. She is recently back from a trip to India with her servants Nancy and Ron.   I was duly warned that Harmony is NOT A TOY.  That means no biting, licking, hauling around, ripping or deviant sexual activities.  I tried my best.  So.............. tempting.

Dog Issues

So---- dogs are victims of their selection, as are humans too. For me that means that little dopamine squirt I get whenever a treat is near.  Yes, I work for pay.  Some things I do for free - like going in the car, chasing squirrels, hummingbirds and cats.  Ditto with running around in grassy fields.   But "jumping through hoops" ?...... no way in heck I am going to do that without pay.  Here the Feeder is coaxing me on with some marvelous nibblies.  This was the day she brought little hot dog bits (kosher, bien sur).
It was only our second week here so we will see how it goes.  The Feeder seems to like it, and as long as I get paid,  I am game.

Dogs of Politicians

                                                LATimes Blog

Well, it is an election year, and as an added feature to my blog, I am going to be spotlighting Dogs of Politicians.  Here is someone who  looks like a Corgi, with his pals, Governor Jerry Brown and Anne Gust Brown, getting a ride on his back.

I think the dog looks a bit stressed.

Watching and Waiting

Spring is here, and I love to run outside but sometimes it's nice just to watch the world go by. (.........Or perhaps wait in silence for my nemesis............)

My Nemesis

I can't believe it has been so long since my last post! I am so sorry, but I had a lot of napping, shredding plastic and newspaper to finish before I could get back to my peeps. Anyway, now it is almost spring and my juices are flowing. Here is a picture of the cat-Devil that hides in my back yard. Can you see her? she thinks she is so clever....................grrrrrrrrrrrr
